Playdough Recipe

Adding playdough to a party can keep the kids amused and stop them running around for awhile.

Have a designated table, playdough, shape cutters and other "tools" the kids will need for their creations.

There are several recipes, this is the one I use.

2 cups plain flour
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 cup of salt
2 cups of water
food coloring

If you don't have cream of tartar, use vinegar or lemon juice. For this recipe use 6 teaspoons.

Mix all of the ingredients in a saucepan and stir over low heat.

Continue stirring until the mixture forms a dough.

Transfer to a chopping board and knead (allow to cool a bit). Add the food coloring while kneading the dough.

Store in the fridge to help it keep longer. Store in the freezer if there will be awhile between uses.

Great to take camping (don't expect it to come home!)

Buy some craft items, colored sticks, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, etc to make playdough animals.

Mix some glitter through to give it an extra sparkle.
