Color your Christmas Party

Do you choose a color to use for your Christmas party decorations, table setting, gift wrapping? I do! I know of one other person - surely there's more :) This year I've chosen blue, gold and silver. Blue is my daughter's favourite color and the other two just seem to go well with it. There is a practical as well as fun side to doing this... Less decision making! I don't go and buy new decorations (wish I had that type of budget!). I'll buy wrapping paper, ribbons, bon bons, serviettes, just keeping in mind my color scheme. So have a Merry Christmas and remember to make it colorful :)

Watching "My Kitchen Rules" on TV - I'm sure there is a version of this in most countries. Each couple has to cook a meal for the other contestants and judges and get scored. It's painful to watch at time but good when they get a win. I can't believe last nights contestants cooked a new dish - why would you do that! Tonight they served their meat undercooked but a great dessert. Can't imagine the stress of cooking for people who are judging you. Bad enough cooking for kids who screw their noses up at everything :)

I just celebrated my birthday with a 1920's theme - Flapper Dresses, Gangsters, Bathtub Gin (well champagne actually!) What a great way to learn about History too - the Prohibition - what a Flapper girl was. A theme party can be a lot more work than a dinner party (or going out to a restaurant!) so start planning early and it will all come together for a great night to remember.
