Alistair's Train Party

Train Cake
My almost 3 year loves Thomas the Tank Engine so I thought a Train theme party would be great for his 3rd birthday.
It would be easy to get Thomas theme everything but that?s too easy so I made my own instead (and cheaper too).
For the invites I used
my website Quick and free. You could make up a word document and email instead (or contact me for a quote to do an online invite for you). The invite had a password so other people couldn't view it.
The party favor bags were plain blue with a colorful train picture glued on. For the favors I found train shaped bubble bath, train whistles and stickers. I added a few other items as well.

For decorations I didn't do much. I pinned up a Thomas doona cover in the main room and set up the train set which doubled as an activity for the kids. I put balloons around the lounge room for the kids to play with, or pop!
The cake was a train cake. This was a bit of a rush job but the kids didn't mind. I used
Sarah's picture to copy from.
I used a bought sponge cake and cut to shape, then spread it with jam and blue whipped cream. I then decorated it with lollies and put two licorice strips for a train track. A friend helped me and it took about 15 minutes (thanks Julie :).
